Early science is the author of \A complete system of theoretical and Mercantile Arithmetic\" published in 1818; \"Astronomy as it is known to the present day\" published in 1825 and \"Five hundred useful and amusing experiments in Chemistry \"also published in 1825. He edited \"The Artisan, the Mechanic's Instructor\" described as \"containing a popular, comprehensive, and systematic view of the most useful sciences; with biographical notices of eminent scientific men, enriched by portraits; and numerous interesting and valuable articles relating to the mechanical and useful arts\". Its purpose was to produce work which was not only of interest to the scientific student but also to the general reader."
