Webb's New England railway and manufacturers' statistical gazetteer; containing an interesting sketch of every station, village and city on each railroad in New England, together with a statistical, historical and biographical account of their representative manufacturing establishments . and water, also doing the workmuch quicker. Our Connections do not require the Plates to be re-moved from the Press to repair, which often does occur with RivetedConnections. The Connections for the admission of ^team and water areof the simplest and most effective kind. Being connected directlywith the steam and water chest ensures a constant transmission ofeither element, and without a possibility of getting out of order, andaffording facilities for repacking unequalled by any other plan for retaining the Plates in their position, when down, andthe method of raising them for the adjustment of the goods, is atonce cheap, simple and effective. The Improved Steam Press can be filled Six Times dur-ing the period now occupied in filling other presses once, and thesaving in time and expense will be found to be upwards of 50 per ^■-cent. jg^ For valuable improvements in the Plates and Connections a Pali i igood judges to be the best arranged Plate now used in this country or I. COUPLING FOR RUBBER PIPE. Which will ba used on the Connections, whenever Presses are of the Improved Hydraulic, of any size or power that may be desired. The Hand OrBelted Presses are from 50 to 250 tons pressure, to which also power may be applied in any ordinary way. Thesewe believe to be superior to any others. They have an upward pressure, and are worked (when by hand) withthecommon Crank Handle, operating either by miter, straight gear, or worm and wheel, directly with the screw, makinga continuous motion, thereby securing fully 50 per cent, in time over the common lever and ratchet press, and being ofmudi greater power. t^ We have also a very good arrangement for a downward Press
