The term horticultural suc- cess is used in distinction to coninicrcial success, because this new ty[)e of zin- nias has not yet been perfected. There is a bed and a half of these new at St. Leonards, or between 400 and 500 linear feet of bench surface covered with a mass of show blooms of great size in a variety of colors. The term decorative, dahlia-flowered zinnias con- veys a clear idea. They are the zinnia family, with the lightness strongly brought out, but they have the dahlia flowers in size and form. The colors are the colors of the zinnia, improved; here, probably, is the weakest point of these dahlia-fiowered zinnias, commercially.
