The trial trip took place on Sag-inaw Bay, October II, and was verysuccessful, the party present on boardbeing highly pleased with her per-formance. A speed of 16 miles anhour was made, with the engines notworking up to their maximum. Anumber of good cards were takenfrom the engine, which developed with 160 lbs. steam, the pro-peller making 125 revolutions. Theair-pump maintained a vacuum of 26in. while the engines were runningfull speed.
