The duct in the isolated splenic portion wasslightly dilated ; parenchymatous tissue in a state of degeneration ;well-marked sclerosis. (Figs. 7, 8, 9.) Experiment XVI^.—White and yellow coach dog, four and a halfmonths old ; weight, 32 pounds. In this case the rubber ligature wasapplied about the middle of the gland, including the artery, but notthe vein.
