The side of the Art Nouveau Secession building, Vienna, Austria

The Secession was an art movement that began in Vienna in 1897 when 19 Viennese artists who found the art establishment too conservative formed their own association. The Secession building dating from 1897 was designed by the architect archirect Joseph Maria Olbrich and displayed the work of these artists.
