The 154th Detachment of Gassaway, , attached to the 863rd Military Police Company, is serving as a Quick Reactionary Force (QRF) for the 2017 National Jamboree near Glen Jean, , July 19-28, 2017. The Soldiers serving as QRF members are a supplementary force for civilian law enforcement in emergency situations. Soldiers train for emergency situations in efforts to respond using the quickest route and the least amount of invasion to Scouts. The 2017 National Jamboree is being attended by 30,000 Boy Scouts, troop leaders, volunteers and professional staff members, as well as more than 15,000 visitors.
