The Mueller-Guttenbrunn Metal Recycling facility in Amstetten, Austria. This is where electronics goods as well as cars and other appliances are sent for recycling under the European Waste Electrics Electronics Equipment (WEEE) Initiative. All electronics goods must be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. Trucks bring the electronics and small appliances into the facility (large pile) and they are loaded into a smasher that breaks them into larger pieces. The three workers then sort out the circuit boards, capacitors, etc. The waste is then shredded and sent to Metran for metals recovery.
