Alexandre Farnèse


Alexandre Farnèse, in italian Alessandro Farnese, was an italian nobleman born on the 28th August 1545 in Rome (Italy) and died on the 2nd December 1592 in Saint-Waast (Netherlands). He was the third Duke of Parma, Piacenza, Castro and Ronciglione, and was governor for the Netherlands. He was the son of Ottavio Farnese (1524-1586), Duke of Camerino, Prefect of Rome, Parma, Piacenza, Castro and Ronciglione, and of Margaret of Austria, she herself the daughter of Charles Quint.
