Pollen presents a peculiar and characteristic appearance under the microscope, and at one time its presence in honey was re- garded as an evidence of the purity of that article. But the purer the honey, the less pollen will there be found in it. The grains of pollen vary with different orders and families of plants, but are constant in form for each species, and even for some genera.
