Liver cancer, gross specimen. Multiple tumours resulting from primary liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), which is usually a consequence of a hepatitis infection. These tumours often secrete alpha-fetoprotein (normally found only in foetal blood), which can be detected in a blood test.
