Plant three-fourths to one inch deep from April to June in rows 6 feet apart, leaving not less than 4 feet between the hills, putting about 10 seeds to the hill. As insects are often very destructive, it is best not to thin at all unitl the plants are well started. When they are large enough to be safe, thin to two in a hill, and keep the ground mellow and free from weeds.
