An endangered baby gorilla stares at the photographer LONDON ZOO, ENGLAND THE CUTEST British baby animals have been captured in zoos across the UK. Rare images show an endangered Rothschild giraffe at just two weeks old while other adorable images show a baby chimpanzee, a young red panda and a sweet baby elephant linking trunks with mum. These images were captured at zoos across the country, including Blackpool Zoo, Chester Zoo and London Zoo. These images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (53) from Manchester England. “It was lovely to see this previous new life, just two weeks after the birth,” said Gary when talking about how he captured the Rothschild Giraffe newborn. “She was staying extremely close to mum, but when she looked at me I was amazed at how big her eyes were. “They were almost too big for its head. But it just made her more adorable. “Watching them find their feet can always be funny in giraffes. She was a little wobbly from time-to-time, but she was also full of life. Occasionally she would take a little jog around the pen. “Giraffes amaze me when they run as they almost look like they are defying gravity, but they have a lot of grace. “A new life is always important and in wildlife parks because breeding programmes are a huge part of what they stand for. “This birth is very important for the future of the species, and cannot be understated. “It proves that these breeding programmes do work and hopefully we can prevent the extinction of many species that would be in so much more trouble without our help. “We all have a fascination with baby animals, particularly with ones we do not see every day. “Other than that you can’t escape the fact that they can be incredibly cute.” ENDS
