Turkich Coast Guard called to aid a tourist boat on fire off the coast near Marmaris. The crew of luxury yacht Asfiye, owned by a friend and on which I was holidaying, put out the fire and saved the boat using Asfiye's on-board pumps and fire hoses. Fortunately the tourist boat had no tourists aboard - and clearly the boat was sadly unprepared for such a fire - a lesson in marine safety to us all. The coat guard towed the boat to a nearby port.
