[The genus Lituites differs from Trochoceras in being discoid and not spiral, and from Hortolus by the whorls of the spire being in contact.] Cyrtoceras Biddulphii, Sow. Much narrower whorls than Phragm. nautileum. Trochoceras, sp. Narrow whorls, very faint ribs. Trochoceras giganteum, Sow. (Lituites, Siluria, 2nd ed. pi. 36, figs. 1—3). Very common, but seldom perfect.
