James Lackington’s Bookseller London (Middlesex) copper Conder halfpenny token of 1795. Reverse: A figure of Fame blowing a trumpet surrounded by legend: “HALFPENNY OF J. LACKINGTON ALLEN & CO. CHEAPEST BOOKSELLERS IN THE WORLD”. James Lackington was a bookseller with a large business at his premises known as “The Temple of the Muses”, No 32 Finsbury Place South, Finsbury Square, London.
