The twin deck aircraft can carry about 555 people which is more than the Boeing 747 jumbo built by Airbus main competitor . Built by a consortium of French British German and Spanish it is truly a symbol of international cooperation . It is a joint venture between European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS and BAE Systems . This wide bodied double deck aircraft flew everyday in the air display at the Farnborough Airshow in July . Many of the world s busiest airports are having to change their terminal buildings to accommodate the A380 . Airbus headquarters is in Toulouse France .
