A Grand Cross of the Iron Cross of 1870 Single-sided order's cross made of iron and silver (the core sprung at one point) on an original neck ribbon. The single-sided manufacture and non-standard quality of the iron core indicate that this piece was used on a flag, possibly on one of a veterans´ association. The design of the silver frame, with deep-set eyelet and suspension ring, conforms closely with awarded original Grand Crosses of the Iron Cross of 1870, like those preserved in the German Historical Museum in Berlin.
