LANOASTEE, PA. Club Meeting. The Lancaster County Florists' Club held its monthly meeting in the Chamber of Conmierce rooms February 19, with President-elect W. B. Girvin m the chair. After some discussion it was decided not to raise the membership dues and also that ladies should have full membership privileges. The club was fortunate in having as a speaker F. S. Bucher, who has aided 80 many Lancaster county farmers in increasing the fertility of their soil. He gave to the club much valuable informa- tion on the value of legumes for coyer crops and their worth in supplying nitrogen, and also on the value of limo and its appUcation. In short, it was the best talk the club had heard for Bome time. ^ The club expects to attend the JNew York flower show Thursday, Mardh 18, leaving Lancaster at 6:05 a. m., giving members four or five hours at the exhibi- tion. Members contemplating going should get in touch with Albert M. Herr, RGcrGt&rv. Elmer J. Weaver, with some other flo- rists of the county, had visited G. W-. Kerr at Dovlestown, Pa., where the W. Atlce Burpee Co. grows its winter-flow- ering sweet peas, and made an exhibit at the club meeting of Mr. Kerr's new varieties. , . ., xt Owing to the proposed visit to the Xsew York flower show, the March meeting will not be held. Various Notes. B. F. Barr has purchased a piece of valuable store property on West Orange street, between Queen and Prince streets. M. J.
