A student in the Staff Sgt. Todd R. Cornell Noncommisioned Officer Academy Basic Leader Course participates in field training at a Fort McCoy training area Jan. 24, 2017, as part of training requirements for the course at Fort McCoy, Wis. The course incorporates recent lessons learned, battle drills, and Army Warrior Tasks. As part of the course, students participate in a 36-hour situational training exercise that concentrates on competency, battle-focused combat scenarios, and troop-leading procedures. The NCOA was activated at Fort McCoy in 1988.
