Cyclist takes a drivers eye view from the cab of an HGV at road safety event


Road Safety week in London, culminated in an event at Wellington Arch, Hyde park on Friday. The event was staged to educate cyclists of the dangers associated with large and heavy Goods vehicles (HGV's). Keltbray supplied a number of vehicles which gave cyclists the opportunity to sit in the cab of the vehicle and get a drivers eye view. Cyclists were shown how they can become out of sight of drivers hightening the risk of an accident. Keltbray have been fitting side scan proximity sensors which give both the driver and cyclists and audible warning, all new vehicles have the system fitted and older vehicles are retrofitted with the system. Dr bike service was also at the event makign minor repairs and carrying out safety checks. The event drew large numbers throughout the morning with Traffic Police and road safety officers givign practical advice to cyclists.
