There are three fine private collections in this exhibitembracing almost every known mineral. They are theLaidlaw economic-scientific collection, the Abraham collectionand the Hihsboro collection. A considerable portion of theexhibit was prepared and contributed by the New Mexicoschool of Mines located at Socorro. Last but not least is theturquoise exhibit, the only one at the Exposition. There arethree displays of turquoise, one in the Palace of Mining andMetallurgy, another in the Varied Industries building, andstill another in the gulch or outside mines exhibit, where aturquoise mine has been THE LAND OF SUNSHINE. XIH HORTICULTURAL AND AGRICULTURAL. The products here shown are for the purpose of proving tothe world, what, under adverse conditions and withoutgovernment aid, has been accomphshed by irrigation withinthe last decade. The superior products of farm, orchard andfield are a revelation to visitors from all lands, and havedemonstrated that the very best results and most perfectdevelopment in fruit and farm products are obtained byirrigation and sunny skies. The fruits, grain and vegetablesin New Mexicos exiiibit have few equals and no agricultural products are varied and extensive, Indiancorn, Kaffir corn, broom corn, Milo maize, wheat, oats, rye,barley, sugar cane and alfalfa. In the vegetable line, potatoes,beans, turnips, pumpkins, squash, onions, peas, melons, andin fact every variety and of fine quality are shown. Theseproducts have reached the high
