Langley, Slough, UK. 23rd July, 2023. Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation after a woman sadly died in a house fire in Slough yesterday. Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service notified the force of a fire at an address in Welland Close at around 6pm. The fire was extinguished but two people were inside the property, including a woman in her eighties, who sadly died at scene. Her next of kin have been informed and have been offered support. The other person was a man in his thirties, who suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. Inspector Ryan Powell, based at Slough police station, said: “Our investigation, alongside the fire service, is in its early stages but the fire is not deemed to be suspicious at this time".
