In aninventory of the year1514 there occurs adescription of twenty-two pieces of tapestryof Felletin. It appearsthat about the middleof the 17th century thetapestries of Felletinwere not much valued,and the low price theyfetched was one of thereasons why this factorywas gradually eclipsedby the greater fame ofAubusson. To-day thename of Felletin ishardly known, whilethat of Aubusson isjustly celebrated. Manyambitious attempts havebeen made in variouscountries to establishtapestry weaving.
