Puya chilensis ,a species of terrestrial bromeliad. Is native to central perennial, it has large, dense rosettes of grey-green, strap-like leaves edged with hooked spines. The green or yellow flowers are borne on spikes. Growing well in the sub tropical Abbey Gardens on the island of Tresco in the Isles of Scilly archipelago, Cornwall. UK
