THE CREST OF SQUADRON - Description - A markhor's head affronted. Motto "PER ADRUM AD AETHERA TENDO" [I Strive Through Difficulties to the Sky]. The Squadron adopted Kabuli markhor as a badge in 1923. This straight horned variety is found on the higher slopes forming the immediate boundary of Afghanistan in the vicinity of the Kyber Pass.
