A late 19th century view of visitors admiring the West Cross at Monasterboice an early Christian monastic settlement in County Louth in Ireland, north of Drogheda. The three high crosses on the monastic site date from the 10th century and form part of the scriptural group, showing biblical scenes. The round tower is about 28 metres tall, was likely built shortly after 968 and damaged in a fire in 1098.
