So far as I know the plan is unique in thispart of Europe, and takes one back across the Alpsto Clermont-Ferrand, Smith field, or ambulatory, opening with arches to the centralapse, is not properly a basilican arrangement, and itis a surprise to meet with it in a place so farremoved from the influence of northern architectureas Arbe, whither, owing to its very slight connexionwith Hungary, there was even less chance thanelsewhere in Dalmatia of foreign architects findingtheir way.
