Russell Brandenburg, a project manager with the Buffalo District of the Army Corps of Engineers, explains the elements of a planned flood damage reduction project in Independence, Ohio on September 26, 2021. The Buffalo District and the City of Independence are sharing the cost of an $8 million project to reduce the risk of damage from continual overbank flooding along the Cuyahoga River and protect more than 52 acres of residential and business properties in the city.
