A Franconian spatha, 7th/8th century AD. Wide, double-edged blade with minor addition to the edge close to the point. Short, straight quillons, slightly conical tang with remains of wooden grip scales. Typical two-piece pommel. Length 88 cm. Fully preserved, rare early sword type.
