( × cm), Prints, Léon Davent (French, active 1540–56), After Luca Penni (Italian, Florence 1500/1504–1557 Paris), The printmaker Davent was active at Fontainebleau, eventually settling in Paris. He began his career as an engraver but by about 1643–44 had turned to etching. Here Davent stayed close to Luca Penni's drawn composition
