For 40-meter operation, a 40-metcr crystalshould be inserted in the crystal socket and S\switched to short out the unused portion of theplate coil. Tune-up procedure is the same as on80 meters. It is possible to use an 80-meter crystal anddouble in the plate circuit for 40-meter , for maximum efficiency, it is best tohave crystals of frequencies that fall in the bandin use.
