GULF (Nov. 20, 2016) Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Jones, assigned to the guided-missile destroyer USS Nitze (DDG 94), cleans a J-bar davit during a freshwater washdown. Jones serves aboard Nitze as a boatswain's mate and is responsible for ship preservation, maintenance and deck evolutions. Nitze, deployed as part of the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the 5th Fleet area of operations.
