Slough, Berkshire, UK. 10th July, 2023. Slough Borough Council have recently introduced a change to residents' bin collections with a view to encouraging residents to recycle more. Grey bins with general waste including food, are now collected once a fortnight rather than once a week, with recycling in red bins, being collected on the alternate week. Despite there being a free to use council refuse tip in Chalvey, Slough for residents, the town already has a big problem with litter and fly-tipping. The streets were even more littered today with filled black plastic bags. An e petition has been started by resident Kawaljeet Singh to ask Slough Borough Council to return to weekly collections. 1216 people have signed it so far. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy Live News
