Air : Attached is a drawing showing a home-made air sledge which is constructedfrom a 4-in. pipe about 2 ft. in lengthand operated by a globe valve furnishedwith a lever-operated valve, which givesquick opening to the air inlet and auto-matically closes by a spring attached un-der the handle. This sledge has proveditself to be very effective in removing re-fractory bolts, and is much valued by themen of the wrecking crew, as it has beenvery effective in removing draw-bar pinswhere the tender and engine were jammedtogether.
