Group of workers who assisted in the construction of the USS Ward, a destroyer, at Mare Island, California. The Ward was launched on June 1, 1918, just seventeen days after the keel was laid. It was one of the Liberty Destroyers, with its keel laid on May 15th. Photograph taken by a CPI photographer.
