Canteen, Hampton's Munitions Works, Lambeth, London, 1914-1918. During WWI many factories set up extra facilities for their workers, like canteens and concert halls. In rural areas canteens were essential as there was often no alternative place to eat. In factories like this one from Lambeth they helped to keep the workforce out of public houses.
