In the Shompole Region of southwest Kenya, Shompole Lodge and Conservancy founder Anthony Russell has partnered with local Masai to provide a unique travel destination. The region's sole eco lodge, Shompole is 30 percent owned by the community. The Masai also comprise approximately 60 percent of its staff, and proceeds help fund education and health care for tribe members.
