That we deem next in importance the ten varieties named in section 2, and, where possible, should also be shown in single tier boxes or trays, entries to consist of three to five trays, and exhibitors to be growers: King of Tompkins County, Gano, Delicious, Fameuse, Stayman Wine- sap, Winter Banana, Mcintosh Red, Red Cheeked Pippin, Ben Davis, Wealthy. 3. That all other varieties be shown in plates for educational and demonstartion purposes, and that the premiums on the same be made the mini- mum of what the fair offers on plate lots, with $1 for first and a medal or trophy for second, as an example. Two premiums only to be offered. 4. That the classification of pears, peaches and all other fruits be referred to Professor Thornber, as representing this association, to be taken up and agreed upon with the fair secretaries. 5. That we deem this apple classification of great importance to growers and exhibitors of this entire section, and we ask the adoption of the same by fairs, so far as their resources will permit. 6. We believe a uniform classification of fruits will be of benefit to growers and exhibitors, and especially to those who prepare exhibits for one or more of the Northwestern fairs.
