171018-N-ZL062-050 YOKOSUKA, Japan (October 18, 2017) The Royal Canadian Submarine HMCS Chicoutimi (SSK 879) passes the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force icebreaker Shirase (AGB 5003) as she prepares to pull in to Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka for a port visit. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 24,000 military and civilian personnel.
