A French toll road bridge, Pont du Normandie Cable-stayed Bridge over the River Seine at Honfleur in Normandie France


The Pont du Normandie is a modern cable-stayed bridge over the River Seine at Honfleur, Normandie, Northern France; the main road on the bridge is a toll road; the view of the bridge is from the South side the Honfleur side of the began in 1988 and the bridge was opened on January 20th 1995 at a cost of $465 million; it used more than 70,000 cubic metres of concrete, more than 90,000 tons of steel with 184 cable stays; the main span is some 2800 feet long and metres wide is 165 feet above sea level, the concrete pylons each weigh 20,000 tons (all figures approx.) It has 4 lanes for traffic and 2 for pedestrians.
