Grand Geyser is located about 120 ft from the boardwalk and not easy to see. Grand is surrounded by at least six smaller geysers, which are interconnected somehow and affecting each other in some way. The interval of eruption for Grand Geyser monitored by the Park Service, varies between and hours. Despite this, much longer intervals to occur. The eruption is a series of about six bursts, each lasting several minutes, which can reach as high as 180 ft. This series of bursts during an eruption is one of the most magnificent spectacles in Yellowstone.
