Schooner Prize of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club, 1865. 'At the meeting of the Royal Mersey Yacht Club, three weeks ago, the prize of the match for schooners and yawls was won by the Speranza, yawl, 100 tons burden, owned by Mr. B. H. Jones, Vice-Commodore of the club. We give an Illustration of the design of the handsome vase, costing £75, which formed the prize on this occasion. It was manufactured by Messrs. Wordley and Co., of Liverpool, as were also the silver tea-service and salver, which formed the ladies' prize'. From "Illustrated London News", 1865.
