Members of APDP and Relatives of disappeared persons in Kashmir commemorates the struggle of Rehti Begum, an active member of APDP, who passed away on 26th April, 2018 due to heart attack at her ancestral house in Cheke Kawoosa Narbal, central Kashmir's Budgam district. APDP demands whereabouts of all those people who were abducted by the state forces or state backed militia. The practice of enforced disappearance has not stopped yet. The sit-in was held . Rehti Begum was the mother of Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh who was a daily wager subjected to enforced disappearance after being abducted from his home by the personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in 1990. After her son was abducted, Rehti never ended her search to look for him and kept waiting until her death. In the last 28 years, she visited from pillar to post to look for her son; she visited every torture center in Kashmir like PapaII, Cargo torture centre, Badaamibag Cantonment besides numerous army camps across Kashmir but could not find the traces of her son. However, she never lost hope. Her dedication to the cause of enforced disappearances remained undeterred until her last breath.
