Cathedral of St Canice, Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Eire (Ireland).

The second largest medieval cathedral in Ireland after St Patrick's in Dublin. The central tower collapsed in 1332 but was rebuilt by Bishop Ledrede 1360, who also installed the stained glass. The fan vault roofing was constructed in 1465 by Bishop Kacket. The cathedral was badly damaged by the Cromwellians and remained so until refitted in classical style in the time of Bishop Richard Pococke in 1756. The adjacent round tower dates from the 10th century and is 30 metres high.
