While other plants are wilting under the scorching rays of our summer sun, the Geranium seems to glory in the hottest weather. They make excellent winter blooming plants, if not kept too warm; but for this purpose should be grown in pots all summer, and the buds picked off as they appear. We ha\ e all the new kinds and the best varieties known; varying irom white to the darkest red, single and double, having from fiftv to seventy-five different varieties. 2 in pots, 5 cents each, 50 cents dozen, $ per hundred. CARNATION. This has been a favorite for many years, and we have no flower to substitute for it (but what would the florist do without carnations?) The improvement made in the few years in colors and habit, has been remarkable. Carnations will grow in any soil. Small plants being planted out in the spring and potte^i in the fall, between September 1st and October 1st, will bloom very freely all winter. After manv ;" experience we have come to the conclusion to grow only two varieties, which have proved worthy of general cultivation. Silver Spray.—Strong, robust, but very dwarf in habit, rarely exceeding fif- teen inches in h 'ight, but of bushy compact growth. Unusually free-blooming; flowers produced on long stems, very large and perfectly formed, never bursting, pure white in color, and beautifully fringed.
