The Puritan hat, or matrix, is made of 1-500-gauge plat-inum. Select facing from any stock of high-fusing porcelainteeth. Set post in root with quick-setting cement. Place haton root and post and burnish carefully to end of same, allow-ing sufficient only to turn beyond margin of stump to indicatedemarkation point. Attach facing to matrix with sticky wax, remove and in-vest, and after burning out wax, build up with high-fusingporcelain to proper contour. Strip away the platinum, andafter etching root end of crown, cement in its proper position. This crown was first demonstrated by its designer, Dr. Miller, of Sandusky, O., at the Northern Ohio
