As part of the International Day of the Gypsy People, the Gypsy community in Madrid demonstrate on the street "Marques de la Ensenada" claiming that this street has the name of a Spanish Marquis who between 1749 and 1793 carried out an operation to exterminate the race Roma in Spain, arresting and murdering tens of thousands of Roma men, women and children, they also came together to demand justice for the death of Eleazar García, a young gypsy with a severe brain disability who was detained by police and security guards at the El Molinón stadium in Gijón on September 8, 2019 during a football match of the Spanish selection. During the arrest he died of a heart attack but a court released those involved in the crime. The family denounces institutional racism.
