EETURN TO ENGLAND. 375 Leaving Peshawur, the first week inFebruary, I embarked a month later onthe Sutlej, at Ferozepoor, and descended theIndus to Tatta; an uninteresting, monoto-nous village, varied only by shooting-alligators and wild fowl on the river, andblack partridges on shore.
