“Stresa” tulip (Tulipa kaufmanniana)

The Tulip 'Stesa', 'Tulipa Kaufmanniana', a fall planted bulb, produces striking yellow and red flowers. Tulips in this class have been developed from the Tulipa kaufmanniana species, which is native to Turkestan. They are some of the very earliest to flower. The flowers are on short stems and open in sunlight to form an almost flat hexagonal star.
